Herendil (S.A. 3310-3429) was a young Númenórean who lived in the kingdom of Númenór during the late-Second Age.Highly loyal to the Valar and his father, Herendil pledged his loyalty to the Faithful to oppose the King's Men that chose to rebel against the Valar, and was also a good friend to Isildur Elendilion. After surviving Númenór's destruction, he traveled to Gondor where he became the Lord of Osgiliath. He married Almáriel in the spring of S.A. 3339 and the two would have a son named Terendul during the early winter. Swearing his oath to protect Gondor from dark forces, Herendil was killed in Anárion's defense of Osgiliath during the Last Alliance.
