Hathila (Rh. "Little Strife") the Thief was an agent of the rogues guild of Strayhold who was active in the hamlet of Mekeilaist in about ca. T.A.1636.He was a young man of unknown lineage, having been orphaned in the Strayhold when still a child. He had dark eyes and hair and a swarthy complexion. He did not keep very clean and was not at all versed in the ways of politeness. He was a capable spy for his age but was not always terribly bright. When he noticed a group of adventurers hired to retrieve the Horn of Gralia Innathro he did not set out directly to alert his guild. Instead, hoping to win a bit of glory with his fellow clansmen, he chose to follow the group, to watch them and assess the threat. A more skillful man may have gotten away with such a gambit but Hathila was certain to get caught and got so shortly before the arrival in Fire Town, making sure as it was obvious that he had been spying on the the fellowship. In the hands of the adventurers, he first claimed total innocence, under pressure, though, he did admit to his ties to the guild. After a moment's thought he claimed that the clan already knew of the mission and that he would be avenged if any harm came to him. He tried to back this up with a tale that he was the son of Kunnall Wulth and that he was quite important to the guild, a story only the most gullible would have believed. He knew little of importance about the clanhall. His status was too low for him to be aware of the treasure room's location and he never kept track of the date, so he did't even know when the next market day was.
