Hasufel was a dark-grey Horse of Rohan. Though not of the sacred line of the Mearas it was a noble animal and was given to the Knight Gárulf who served in Éomer's Éored. After his former owner had been killed by Uglúk's Uruk-Hai in the battle at the Eaves of Fangorn Hasufel was given to Aragorn Elessar by Éomer to recompense him for the supposed loss of Merry Brandybuck and Pippin Took. Hasufel served as Aragorn's mount until the Grey Company arrived at Dunharg and brought him his own horse, Roheryn.
