The Harnerin (Av."Southwanderers") were a collection of tribes from the First Age. They were refugees from Palisor who had wandered along the northern shores of the Helcar sea (or it's remains) and came to the Westlands, where they turned southwards towards later Gondor and Mordor or Near-Harad. The Daen peoples and parts of the populace of later northern Haradwaith were their descendants as well as the Halethrim, who were their only splinter group who crossed the Ered Luin into Beleriand.
