A Harad buffalo
The Harad buffalo was a family of several subspecies of large black Kine native to Harad, especially the lands around the Gulf of Far-Harad, Bôzisha-Mîraz, the Zîrayn, An-Balkûmagân and parts of the Uttermost South. The Barangiles or Far-Haradrim recognized following subspecies: the the "Tûktanin buffalo", "Harad Forest buffalo" or "dwarf buffalo", the "Bellakaranian buffalo", the "Zîreshan buffalo" and the "mountain buffalo" of the Tûr Betark and their foothills. The water buffalo of Rhûn and southeastern Middle-earth was its closest relative and the black kine of Mordor was often seen as an additional northern subspecies.
Notes[]
The "Harad buffalo" corresponds to the real African buffalo or Cape buffalo.
