Hanar was a dwarf who was known as the best smith in all of Dale. For those that could afford his prices, there were no better swords or spears that could be found in Wilderland.

In early drafts for the Lord of the Rings, Hanar was, along with Nar ,Lofar and Anar, one of the dwarves who assisted Bilbo Baggins in putting up his Birthday party.
