Halfling-kin could refer to supposed - mythological or real - relatives of the Hobbits or Halflings in the wild and Unknown and tribal lands of Rhûn or Harad. The Fairheads and Fokirio, Ghendari, Gnollish and Grolms, Nimblefingers and Piram, Sun-children and Tanai.
It was unknown if any of These races really existed or if they did, they really were actual relatives of the Hobbits or may have Had a different origin, possibly tribes of mannish origin like the Drúedain or even fairy-people.

Notes[]
Hobbits in southern or eastern Middle-earth were introduced by MERP and Loremaster (ICE Series) as well as fan- or 3rd sources. The NNCA treats their existence as optional. They may have existed but were not well known and often more like a myth in mannish-tales.
Editorial Note: This entry contains speculative or fan-based material — such as fanon, fanfiction, or theory constructs — that may not be directly supported by canonical texts. Interpretations offered here are part of the NNCA’s speculative corpus and should not be mistaken for primary Tolkien sources.
