A large (9' high and 16' broad), reddish cairn of unknown origin was one of the most mysterious features in the Lûgât territories. Built in the Second Age by Mannish tribes, it rose beside a gushing mountain stream. The pillar was generally shunned by the Orcs, who called the place Grumbul (Or."Heap" or maybe "Skull-place"?).
