Greyape

a Grey Ape

Grey, shaggy-haired, and heavily-built, Grey-apes, or Cijuvi Niavimi, were powerful beasts that lived alone, in pairs, or in small family groups in the forests of Pel (Tathom and Tiur Cili) in southwestern Middle-earth. They stood up to 5' in height and weighed up to 300 lbs. The grey ape's long arms reached to it's ankles when it stood erected, and it's broad hands had opposable digits. Coupled with it's great upper body strength, these features enabled them to swing from tree to tree and climb with amazing ease. Their short, relatively weak legs prevented them from running or walking efficiently. When they moved about on the jungle floor, either upright or on all fours, they travelled exhibit an awkward, halting gait.
