Gordmúl was a Greater Orc captain of Barad-dûr. One of the pre-eminent chieftains amongst the Orcish hierarchy, he was in the plains of Gorgoroth by the time of the War of the Ring, where he rallied his troops and marched a long way to get to the Black Gate while passing Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee who were disguised as lesser Orc scouts. Bolingúl of the Morannon Orcs mistook both for possible deserters and pressed them into his ranks, luckily Gordmúl’s troop of Black Uruks ambushed Bolingul’s company, during which both achieved escape.
