A Rohirric Gleeman, Gléowine (Éo. "Glee-friend") served as King Theoden's minstrel during the War of the Ring. After the War, he composed a song commemorating the valliant charge and death of Theoden Ednew of Rohan. The song was Gléowine's last, and it was sung by the Rohirrim as they gathered at Theoden's funeral, with Éowyn leading the singers.
