Gerdâ (S. "High ore") was a Dwarf princess of Khazad-dûm who lived towards the end of the Second Age. She was the daughter of Durin IV and his wife Dissa.
History[]
Gerdâ was born to Durin and Dissa in the twenty years since Elrond Half-elven's previous visit to Khazad-dûm. She and her brother Gamli were playing with one another when the Elf came to visit the prince's apartments.
Notes[]
Original form: Gerda = Gerdâ
Gerda is a given germanic name meaning "protectress", as such it would be inappropriate for a second Age dwarf, although in Goldogrin "Gerdâ" might mean "High ore", so "Gerda" might actually be a Sindarin name from some little known Eregion dialect.
This character is from an ongoing adaptation. This is subject to many changes.
