Gazthak was an Uruk that was one of Saruman's breed that arose during the War of the Ring. Serving in the rank of Taskmaster, he led a rank of pikemen at the battle of Helm's Deep. However, when Gandalf arrived with reinforcements, Gazthak was blinded by the light of the wizard and perished at the end of the battle.
