Gaurwaith (S. "Wolf-folk") was a term applied to outlaws, specifically the outlaw-band (about 50 strong) that operated in the moors northeast of Talath Dirnen, south of the forest of Brethil and west of the Kingdom of Doriath, in Beleriand in the First Age. Túrin Turambar (alias Neithan, the "wronged") joined this band and eventually became its leader. This band finally settled on Amon Rûdh, becoming the core of Dor-Cúarthol, before being discovered and destroyed by Orcs of Morgoth. Only Túrin, Beleg, and Andvír survived that final battle atop Amon Rûdh.
