Galadhil was a ranger of Arthedain.He was a child of Haldrahir and Alarien of the house of Galborn of the red eye and was born and raised in bar baranorn near Rúaduin (Rood). His brother Androhir was killed by white wolves in the long winter when Galadhil was about four years old and his sister Elenien was kidnapped by ravaging dunmen and Galadhil went on a hunt to rescue her, for this purpose his uncle Galadan, a ranger of the north gave him the sword Maldavegil, the sister sword of carvegil.
