Gaersul

Gaersûl (S. "Windy Sea") was one of the many small fishing villages on the banks of the Anduin. The settlement stood on the north bank of the river at the edge of the Loeg Balimur. some sixty miles below Pelargir. The village was one of the earliest offshoot settlements of Pelargir during the mid- Second Age, but from the beginning of the Third Age, most of its inhabitants had been of Ethir origin, seeking to utilize the resources of the Balimur for the purpose of trade in the marketplaces of Pelargir or Hyarpende. Gaersûl was sacked and burned by Corsairs in T.A. 1634, and was only intermittendly inhabited during the remainder of the Third Age.
