Three Fords led across river Snowbourne, one lay south of Underharrow, where a winding trail broke off the road and descended to the mountains, a third lay where the great West Road passed the cliffs of the White Mountains, a third ford lay just beneath Edoras at the ruins of an ancient dunnish townside.
