Foothills of the Ephel Dúath mostly referred only to it's western foothills which bordered Gondor.In the north they went over into the Tyrn Thurion, Gonderyth Dúath and Emyn Fuin, in Harithilien they molded with the emyn Poros, in Harondor with the Emyn Gongaran and in Near Harad with the hills of Chelkar.On their eastern side they went over into the Morgai, the Maegond Spur and then softly into the flatlands of Núrn.
