When Húrin Thalion was released from Angband, he traveled alone to his old home in Dor-Lomin, only to find it occupied by Easterlings of Uldor the Accursed's folk. He met a small number of homeless and outlawed men from his own house, of which seven, among them the group's leader Asgon of Dor-lómin, agreed to follow him into southern Beleriand.
