When the Witch King came to Angmar, few knew that it was his "cold arm" that was guiding all the evil in the region. Commanded by Sauron himself, the Witch King saw an opportunity to strike out at the Free Peoples--seeing the kingdoms of Arthedain, Cardolan, and Rhudaur all divided, and after having gained an adequate force, the Witch King attacked the Dwarves and then invaded Arnor during the reign of King Malvegil of Arthedain.
