Findis was a daughter of Finwë Ñoldóran and his second wife Indis the Fair, her name being a combination of her parents names. She was sister to Fingolfin, Finarfin, Finvain ( or Faniel) and half-sister of Feanor. During the Exile of the Noldor she remained with Indis and her younger brother Finarfin in Valinor, where she apparently dwelt ever since.
Findis was a very beautiful woman with long, gold-brown hair and blue eyes. She had a slim, shapely figure. She wore dresses in white, blue or green.
Findis (and her sisters) was often speculated by fans to have been the possible ancestor of several notable noldo noblemen, including Aranwë, Gildor Inglorion and Glorfindel of the House of the Golden Flower.
