Fincúlin was described as: curious, passionate, impatient, and prideful, all traits he shared with his ancestor Feanor.
A youthful member of the Gwaith-i-Mirdain, the smith proved himself to be very skilled, attracting the praise of his uncle Celebrimbor—and the Lord of Gifts, Annatar. Eager to learn, Finculin swiftly fell into Annatar s trap and became a useful (if unwitting) tool of the disguised Dark Lord. Although Fincúlin was not corrupted, he abandoned all interests except smithing, becoming obsessed with his craft.
Note[]
Since Celebrimbor is described as being Finculin's uncle, he may have been a son of Caranthir and his wife. Given that Caranthir lived a destructive life, his wife may have retreated to Ossiriand to have their child.
