A Tarkili Couple
Tarkils (S."Terchil", Q."Tarkili",Har."Tergil") or Torfiriath (in Cardolan) were the descendants of Dúnedain who had intermarried with other peoples (usually middle-men).They were also known as Lesser Dúnedain.Most Gondorians and many Eriadorians and Umbareans would be considered Tarkils.
The Black Númenóreans did not use the Sindarin or Quenya terms but called those "lesser Black Númenóreans" whose blood had mingled with lesser Men "Banadûnaim" (Ad. "Half-Númenóreans").The largest part of the Umbareans, Bellakarani, Anbalukkhôri and Zimrathânians were such Banadûnaim.
The term "Tergil",which meant "man of Gondor" or "Dúnadan" in Haradaic was probably also derived from "Tarkil" just as orcish "Tark" .
