Situated south of the western part of the Yellow Mountains, Tûmag (Ma. "Wooded Land") was a warm, humid, and hilly coastal region situated in southwesternmost Middle-earth. It was situated west of the Bay of Ûsakan and northeast of Mag, east of the river Rusek. Most of its Apysaic-speaking Tûmag inhabitants lived near the hills above the area's numerous rivers, lakes, or along the Haragaer coast. Jungle covered much of Tûmag, especially in the east. For most of its history in the Third Age it was one half of the Twin Nations of Mag and Tûmag.
Tûmag encompassed all the land east of the great river and south and west of the Putoruk forest. Its chief geological regions were the Tûmag Habor, the Nols Cos, Wamo-Kuala-Deg, the Nols Jedil, Modune, Paga Deg, and the Nols Osktrug. The Tûmag considered Modune to be a land under their control, and the Lom'chy to be tax-paying citizens who served the Tamska (Queen).
