Giant Cave-Bats

The giant cave bats of the Iron Hills were large, carnivorous predators. Ranging between 3 and 5 feet in length, the bats emerged from their caves at twilight to hunt small game. They were excellent hunters, paralyzing their prey with their venomous bite, and then carrying it off to their lair. (Their poison was a nerve poison that could incapacitate a man for approximately 10 minutes.) The bats rarely attacked Men, unless a passing stranger disturbed their roosts. The poison could be fatal in large doses.
