Eisil the Red was a man who became Governor and General of New Freeport in TA 2996 (2097 Girt Reckoning). He feigned a charge of "financial corruption" against the town's assembly, making himself defacto autocrat of Freeport and managed to expand his rule over the entire Ulmic Coast, following a harsh policy against "non-humans" (Elves, dwarves and even Old Ones). He called in the Black Guard Mercenaries to support him, allied himself with Cold-Ogres and Black Tunnelers and declared open war upon Dwarves, Elves and men of Inland but died TA 3019 (2120 Girt Reckoning) in Battle at the Bloom Mountains when the Rock Geniuses brought down the Crags of Wingspan, burying him with his army.
The involvement of the Black Guard suggests that Eisil had been secretly in league with Sauron, being possibly a part of the Dark Lord's great offense near the end of the third age.How far Eisil was privy to the Dark Lord's schemes however remains unsure, it might be that he was just a pawn and a front of Sauron's local Tyrant of the South.
