Cûlan was an herb mixture usually made into tea or used as seasoning in soup. Cûlan was an anti-spasmodic drug used to treat conditions like epilepsy; it also reduced the effect of certain poisons.Its active ingredient was cûlan rye, a grass which closely resembled rye, originally native to tropical tallgrass plains or savannas, later cultivated.
