Summary | A major pass into Beleriand from the north |
The Pass of Aglond (S. “narrow path”) was a pass into Himlad from Lothlann between the highlands of Dorthonion and the hill Himring, in Beleriand.
The Pass of Aglond was fortified by Celegorm and Curufin, but the pass was forced by Morgoth’s armies during Dagor Bragollach. Maedhros soon retook the Pass of Aglond, but when he fled from the north after the Nirnaeth Arnoediad the pass was left undefended.
