Farahail was a young man of Bar-en-Dinnen in Ithilien. One night he reported to have seen a Ghost or Phantomon the banks of Anduin, in truth the shadowy form of of Raenar, an agent of the Dark lord acting as a secret ferryman.
Farahail looked every bit as young and wide-eyed as his nineteen years. His round face was topped with a mop of sandy brown hair, and his hazel eyes were among his more notable features. He was of mixed Dúnadan stock and not overly tall. The youth worked as a tailor in town, but he was known for his skills as a storyteller and singer. His personality was dynamic, and he became enthusiastic about very trivial events. For this reason, the town elders did dismiss the young man's tale as another one of his infamous stories.
