The Faríyim were a group of mannish tribes who wandered into Near-Harad in the early second Age. They were groups of Narnerin descent akin to the Apysani, but quickly intermingled with southern Daen or Sakalai tribes. They later became known as the Haruzani, a term that would evolve into Harûze, an umbrella term for the Near-Haradrim.

The Name "Faríyim" seems to be related to "Briz-Farak" the Khuzdul name for the men of the deserts.
