Etten or Ettin was a Westron term originally derived from the Éothéodan word Éoten, meaning Giant.Etten however was also often applied to various species of Troll-kind, especially more-headed individuals, and even Ogres.Also the Rohirric word Ent, a translation of Sindarin Onod, was derived from Ettin or Éoten.
