Erén (Ar. "Unclean") was a man who had served Melkor at the First Temple in Hildorien.He became one of the Hănmani a mighty Chieftain among the Easterlings and led a great tribal group, among them the ancestors of Bór the Faithful and Uldor the Accursed, westwards towards the foothills of the Ered Harmal.He later came to Angband to serve his master even after death.

In the Angband games this character is intended to be The Eighth of the Nazgûl, as this character however was not even born in the First Age he was here replaced with a Lord of the Easterlings and one of Melkors early "warped men".
