Elentir (S.A 3120 - S.A. 3310) was a Numenorean who was the son of Númendil and Glorithil, and the younger brother of Amandil. He was highly loyal to the Faithful and had always remained a good ally to the Valar and Elves of the west, but was also jealous since his elder brother succeeded to the Lordship of Andúnië. That was when he fell in love with Tar-Míriel, who had been forced to marry Ar-Pharazôn. Elentir swore to free her when she became an honorable member of the Faithful, but was soon caught and executed by Ar-Pharazôn when he discovered his wife’s affair with him.
- In The History of the Akallabêth, Elentir was created and to be the younger brother of Amandil. The character was then abandoned during the writing of the Akallabêth.
