The Dunharrow Road, south from Edoras, covered over five rugged miles before coming the hamlet of Upbourne, quickly snaked its way through the village and on toward Underharrow, along a narrow cliff, a winding trail breaking off the road descending to a ford across the Snowbourne, then ascending into Aldor's Gate, the main route turning to climb a steep cliff that formed the eastern wall of the Harrowdale to the high above looming ancient Hold of Dunharrow.
