The Drogrogath (S."Thrall-demons") were a low class of deformed, hunchbacked servant-demons in Angband. They seemed to have little will or personality on their own and only existed to serve greater beings such as the demon-lords of Morgoth's high council. Best known of these was "Grom", Morgoth's personal butler and cup-bearer.
The Drogrogath were believed to have been once proud Maia-spirits who had made Melkor their enemy, who broke their will and turned them into weak and degraded existences, his ultimate way of humiliating those who had dared to withstand him.
