The Drênâi were a group of wild mountain tribes who roamed the volcanic mountains of the Ivory Peninsula and were akin to the Ganil and shared their language. The Mûmak-Mahûd had conquered the lands of Drênad near the end of the Third Age, and most of the settled Drênâi became subjects to their Nûlakana tribe, but the true, mountain-dwelling Drênâi remained relatively free, because they stayed out of reach of the Mûmak-Mahûd's oliphaunt-mounted forces.
