Mt. Dolmed TA location

Dolmed i-Dannen (S. "Wet Head the Fallen", Os. "Nûlmid Dandenen", Q. "Nûlamistelante") were the remains of a once massive mountain that rose between Nogrod and Belegost in the First Age. North of Dolmed was delved Belegost; south was Nogrod. A wide and tall mountain, Dolmed was a dormant volcano, its upper slopes snowy year-round (thus the name). At the breaking of Thangorodrim, the mountain erupted, shattering its cone, and doing immense damage to the halls below. It later stood some 6,390 feet. In the First Age Dolmed was sometimes used to describe the Dwarves Halls of the Ered Luin.

Position[]

The proper location of Mt. Dolmed, Belegost and Nogrod - in relation to the map of MERP for T.A.

Determination of the position of the Mt. Dolmed is different from that presented in the article OH #25 "Dwarves of the Blue Mountains" - conclusion is based on the map that Tolkien had to see and approve.

However, Mt. Dolmed it is still along vector of line linking Himling < > Mt. Dolmed from the map "War of the jewels".

Findings implies that ruins of Belegost must be placed to the north from the localisation suggested in mentioned article.
