Daerandir was Dúnadan of Minas Tirith who lived in the first century of the Fourth Age.

During the very last year of the Third Age, Daerandir was born to a family of the Dúnedain in Minas Tirith. However, during that same year, his parents were supposedly slaughtered by followers of Sauron, likely as part of the concurrent siege of the city, and it is possible he was among the women and children who took shelter during that battle. His only known relative that survived, his aunt Miluinaneth, took him in and raised him. When he was 17, he said good bye to his aunt and began to wander the lands, hoping to find new friends and new ways to help the fight against the evils of the world.
