Son of Bâlrim, a Lord of Druin's Line, Dân (SA ca. 1680) battled all remnants of the old ways. He questioned the semi-divinity of Mahal and quarreled with other Dwarves in Exile who resided near his home in the Blue Mountains.
The Spelling of some names was altered to move away from pseudo-Old Norse names, which represent the language of northern Rhovanion and would have been unknown to the eastern Dwarves.
