The Cult of Herumor was a dark cult that emerged in Gondor in the early Fourth Age. The teachings of the cult were held secret, but it was believed to have been a Sauronite or Melkorian cult. The identity of Herumor remained unsettled: some commentators believe Herumor to be a name or identity of the Dark lord, others presumed that Herumor was the name of the Cult’s secret Leader or perhaps referred to Herumor the Black Númenórean, who was regarded as a black Prophet.
