Otornassë Qettalambinaro
Within the sedate and quiet halls of the Sages Fellowship were some less timid and bookish types who had more relished for the living languages of Middle-Earth and who took the trouble to do fieldwork and on-the-spot research. This group called themselves the College of the Spoken Word (Q. "Otornassë Qettalambinaro"). All the members were sages and minstrels (mostly the latter). They maintained many "safe houses" throughout the north and west regions and traveled extensively collecting information on languages and lore to add to the already magnificent library of the Rynd Permaith.Membership was by recommendation and invitation only. The College was not recognized by the Sages' Fellowship and got no funding, however there was a ready market for the works which the members produced after their visits to foreign lands. The members were known by a variety of names including "the Col-bitaran" from friends in the regions bordering Dor-Rhûnen. All the members were rogueish but sincere and devoted to their studies. They had little impact on Minas Tirith. other than providing a surprisingly good source of information on all sorts of topics.
