Ainu

The Ainur were the first and greatest of the spirits brought forth by Eru Ilúvatar from the depths of His thought before the shaping of Eä. Before time and before matter, they were given being in the Timeless Halls, where they beheld the Flame Imperishable and wove the first strains of the Great Music. They are the eldest and mightiest of all Spirits, the architects of the cosmos and the heralds of its unfolding destiny.
