Caring Green

An ideal camping glade, a day's rides south of Long Cleeve at a junction with the Great East Road, in the midst of lush, rolling terrain under green woods, with sand ridges to either side. The remains of several Dúnadan houses could be found in the woods. Most showed signs of digging, for impoverished scavengers had been busy here over the years. Rumors told of a collection of valuable books buried here during the Scourging, but that seemed unlikely. Actually the books, which told of treason in the court of Cardolan, among other things, were in an enchanted sedskin satchel at the bottom of the best well. Several wells in the area provided sweeter water than they should. The locals objected to anyone tainting these wells, for this was a prime summit between two valleys and most of the streams between Mich Hollow and Waymeet went dry in the summer.
