Calalindë (Q. "Song of Light") was a Númenórean lady.
She wed Valandil, the son of Princess Silmariën and Lord Elatan. Her husband was the cousin of Tar-Elendil, the nephew of Tar-Meneldur, and the cousin of Tar-Aldarion. While her husband could not become king as, at the time, the law only allowed for succession in the male line, he was given the title Lord of Andúnië in celebration of the birth of Tar-Elendil's first grandchild. Calalindë thereby became the Lady of Andúnië and the mother of a line of lords that would often have the highest standing among the nobility, second only to the royal family proper. Her son, Eldacar, succeeded her husband as the second Lord of Andúnië.
Notes[]
- Fanon name of a 'textual ghost', the wife of Valandil and the mother of the second lord of Andúnië.
