The Buca/Bucca (Du.“a male goat or deer”) or later Bucks were a tribe of wandering Halflings, largely of Fallohide and Stoor descent. They had their origin in the marshes of northern Dunland and were believed to have been the ancestors of the Oldbucks, Gorbucks, Sarrabucks and Brandybucks.
