Buckler is a term used for small shield types, especially some specific kinds of fist-shields, usually 18 in or smaller in diameter, mostly used in combination with sword, falchion or rapier. Bucklers could have a wide variety of forms and styles.
Bucklers were used by the elves of Doriath. The elvish term for buckler might have been "tolmen".
