First Thain of the Shire and founder of the Oldbuck (later called Brandybuck) family. Bucca (A-S/O.E. "a male goat") was an illustrious, capable, and notable Hobbit. The Thainship remained with the Bucks until the founding of Buckland, at which time it was passed to the Tooks.
