Bris Frid was the wife of Thráin, son of Thrór and Dís I, the mother of Thorin Oakenshield, Frerin, and Dís II. Her son Thorin would become a legendary hero in reclaiming Erebor that was stolen from Smaug.
Biography[]
Born in T.A. 2645, Bris II, named after Bris I, was a descendant of Dúrin the Deathless. Living in Erebor during the Third Age, Bris married Thráin, and the two had three children: Thorin Oakenshield, Frerin, and Dís II. While still living in the Lonely Mountain in T.A. 2770, Bris and the Dwarves of Erebor were soon raided by the dragon Smaug, who descended on Lonely Mountain and sacked the Dwarven kingdom. While her husband was injured and fled with his father and many survivors, Bris was among the dwarves that perished in the terrible sacking.
