Brestir the Old was a crafty, experienced captain who first sailed the Running River and beyond over 70 years ago. He owned and managed a fleet of three Knorrs, his old ship The Crab being his pride and joy.

In the original supplement this character was named "Brethil" and borrowed from the MERP Tharbad module. Here instead a norse name is proposed.
