Boromir: "Is it not a strange fate that we should suffer so much fear and doubt for so small a thing? So small a thing!"
- J. R. R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring II:10

Borkh (Me. "Creature") the Tree-Cutter was a Demon-Orc of Angband. He was however unhinged and unpredictable, and often roamed the underworld and wilderness of Dor-na-Daerachas on his own, bringing destruction. A fallen Maia in the shape of what could have looked orc- or troll-like, had not his skin been thick, almost horn- or bark-like, and his body and features slow and unmoved, almost like a statue or Golem. Orcs of later generations remembered him as the embodiment of the destruction of Nature, especially trees.

Notes[]

  • Borkh was invented as a nod to "Bork" or "Bork-man", an Orc-deity mentioned in Might & Magic IV.
